Alright, I have the GalaxyS phone, it truly is Epic - pun intended - but I'm having problems connecting it to my computer for mass storage. I'm running Windows 7 64 bit Ultimate. I get the error code 43. Steps I've taken to resolve this. First, uninstall and reinstall the driver. Doesn't work, Windows doesn't even recognize that there IS a driver, no matter how much I do it. Second, Installed Kies, still doesn't recognize it. Tested to see if it was the phone, or the computer, by hooking it up to a Mac. Works just fine. I read that it might be because I'm plugging it into my USB 2.0 slots on the front of my case. Now, the mac I use Only has 2.0 USB, and it runs fine. My computer has 3.0 in the back, but would that really make a difference? Does anyone have any thoughts on how I can fix this?

My thought's, have you tried a different cable, when you plug it in does your phone reconize that it has been plugged in and when it's plugged in can you see it in device manager on your computer and have you used those back ports on your computer and not just one but all and have you restarted your computer. After any of these trys you might check and see if >settings>applications>Development>usb debugging< is checked and if it isn't you might try that .

There has been some known issues with Windows 7 period. We have had many people that had issues in the rooting and hacking community because they could get Windows 7 to work with the Epic due to driver issues.

Mass Storage - USB Windows 7 issues

Yes, some issues with Windows 7, but..

If you look on the sprint forums, people have suggested to connect to a different USB port, as some ports are not properly relaying the device information to the computer.

I had the same problem, reconnected to a different USB port, and viola, it works just fine.

Anotherthing (maybe you already tried) is there are 32 and 64 bit drivers for Windows 7. I believe Samsung website only has 32 bit drivers (might be wrong), but I found on various forums links for both 32 and 64 bit drivers, and you should download and try the 64 bit version.

When using Odin on windows 7 64bit only the 32 bit drivers worked for me. If that helps with any driver confusion.

Please help!

Ok so I was going to install my first rom tonight and I ran into a problem. For some reason none of my computers will detect mine or my wifes Epic. I have installed the drivers and the phone is not set to debugging so thats not it. I sure its something simple im forgetting after a long day at work so im hoping someone can remind me before I go nuts and load the phone into the cd drive:confused:

try to put your phone in debugging mode
try different port.
are you trying different cables?

where did you get the drivers?

The samsung drivers are finicky. Are you sure they are installed? Check this and if a problem, find anotherndownload, delete everything and start over. I have a 64 bit win 7 but only 32 drivers would load.

Even try another computer if pssible.

Reboot computer and phone.

Use USB port on back of computer rather than front easy access

Be sure everything is checked, look at notifications men and be sure USB connection is on.

Several things can be hugely frustrating, so keep beating on it.

We need a lot more info before we can begin to help you. What kind of computer are you running? What version of OS? What version of Odin? What drivers? Hell, what are you even trying to do?

We aren't mind readers, you need to help us help you.

On 2.2 ec05 when i plug in the phone to the usb do i now have to select mass storage for the cpu(vista 32bit) to see the phone? on 2.1 it would see it just by pluging it in.
