Problems with Plastic Backing, anyone else?

A few weeks ago, I noticed that the plastic back gives a little bit on the lower right side (from the front). When I'm holding it, it can flex in just a little bit and lets out a quite creak noise.

Has anyone else noticed this? Perhaps I've removed my back too many times. It seems like it's not made to come on and off a lot without breaking soon.

If it bugs you then just get a case or sleeve so that there is a buffe rbetween you and the phone. Personally I have never experienced this and I have a launch phone.

I don't have those issues, but the T in the HTC logo started to come off a couple of days after buying the phone on launch day...I was able to get a replacement backplate, and I have not had any issues since. I would recommend getting a replacement...it may fix your problem.

I have/had this EXACT issue. So freaking annoying - if you're a detailed person like me... it can drive you INSANE.

I went with the VZW clamshell/holster solution for a bit, and it helped... but not 100% (I still got a little flex/creak through the shell). Eventually, I got rid of that though, because I simply didn't like it...

The current solution I'm using is as follows:
Place 3-4 strips of black electrical tape on the inside of the black battery cover, covering as much of it as you can. My thoughts are that the tape helps to fill in some of that gap that we feel when we touch the back battery cover case... and thus, when we press down, that tiny layer of black tape stops the battery cover from flexing.

Give this a shot, let me know how it works for you...

I'm hoping that when the 2250 mAh battery comes out (or whatever it is - the one between 1750 and 3500 mAh), it will have a battery door that is flat/flush with the camera... and hopefully, with a slightly larger battery and different battery door, that flex will go away...

If you get a case that slides together, that eliminates this issue...

Because that clamshell is a front/back piece, it doesnt hold it tight.

Glossy silicone case from verizon should hold it tight and they look great on the phone :) I have the red case and it does an excellent job.

Back on mine seems solid enough. I hold my phone 95% of the time in my left hand, but I only hold it, not squeeze it to death.

I don't take the cover off very often (I don't switch batteries).

Would imagine that a case for the phone might help in your case. Mine is non-cased though I do have screen protector (Zag) and have applied vinyl to the back.

Non-issue for me.

Yes, I too recommend the glossy silicone case from Verizon. The best case I've ever had in terms of fit and finish. It also prevents the camera lens from touching a surface when you set the phone down. Most people I've shown my Incredible to don't even realize it is on there until/unless I take it off and show them.

I don't have that issue either, but I haven't take the case off my phone since release date. If it bothers you, ask about a warranty exchange.

My phone also has this problem. I've removed the cover 10 or so times before it started. It creaks horribly bad when pushing the trackpad down to click. It's like I have 2 or 3 extra buttons underneath the lower back of the phone. I noticed the tabs on the bottom side are loose which might be causing it. I have the Verizon hard case sliding holster which helps if I adjust the phone up and down but it always comes back within a few hrs of use. Really annoying and haven't found a fix yet. Had the phone since pre-release using the 1750 battery.

Make sure that the back is totally on, by pressing down all of the edges. Even if it looks like it is all the way on, if you missed a corner or side then it will creak.
