Does anyone else who have an unlocked phone using AT&T as their provider have problems with cell coverage?

I get little to no cell coverage so I miss calls and texts. This is my 2nd phone with the problem. I even sent it into Samsung for service but the problem didn't show up in their diagnostics because they only found problems with the speaker and charging port.

I've been to AT&T a few times and they say it's nothing on their end.

The phone doesn't have the "network mode" option so I couldn't even change the mode to a usable network.

Settings / About phone / Status / SIM card status and Phone status

Where was it bought
Can you send & receive text msgs

It should be using Access Point Names, ATT Nextgenphone

Did the store swapsim? Attempt making and recv call?

I bought it online from B&H.

I can send/ receive texts and make and receive calls. But I would get missed calls because my phone doesn't ring and texts wouldn't notify me.

When I first got the phone I went to the store to get a nano sim because my S5 mini uses a micro one.

I would learn how to load the AT&T firmware onto the phone and then you will be able to use WiFi calling which will solve your problems. Loading the AT&T firmware is pretty easy to do but you need to follow the instructions or you can mess up your phone and you may not know how to fix the problem if that happens.

Like you, my AT&T coverage is horrible at my house and WiFi calling has solved that issue here.

Well I've never had a problem with coverage when using my S5 Mini for over 3.5 years. It's only when I had to get a nano sim card for the S9 that I started to experience this problem.

I'm currently using a sim card adapter so I can use the nano sim in my S5. BUT my S5 experiences the same problem if I set the "network mode" to LTE/3G/2G. When I switch to 3G/2G it works as it should. Now the weird thing is after leaving it in 3G/2G for a few days and then switching it back to LTE/3G/2G there is no problem until about 36 hours later and then it starts having the problem again.

My S5 has always stayed on LTE/3G/2G prior to using a nano sim card.
