Hi,

I've been using my galaxy sII for very happy 1 and a half years. This morning for the first time ever I can't start my phone!! Every single boot ends up on a reboot after about a minute of normal startup on the latest Android version, Jelly Bean, and then a msgbox screen comes up with a message that became a nightmare message to me for the last hour "process system is not responding". It lasts a few seconds and the system reboots itself.

Please, Help!

Thank you!

Did you try booting into recovery mode and wiping cache?

god...1 and a half year, that's just the same here. mine broken one month ago, i was using Line (sms app) and all of the sudden the SGS 2 does not response and then it turned off itself. that was the last time it was on. i had the latest OS from Kies, never flashed. the phone doesn't turn back on anymore, and only the area around the camera heat up when i hold the power and volume (down) bottom. anyone can help? i'm out of idea to fix it now..and the Nexus 4 is out of stock....

To boot in to recovery. You do this. Hold down the volume up rocker and the power rocker at same time. Phone should then boot in to recovery screen. Use the volume rocker to navigate to wipe cache. Then hit the power rocker to choose that option. Im not sure this will fix your issue. But it wont hurt. If worse case happens and it does not help. You can reboot again as above and choose to reset phone. Just be aware your phone will be wiped clean. But hopefully your problem will be gone. GL..

When rebooting into recovery screen, should the phone be off or should it be on? So far haven't needed to do this, but just wondering.
I am not up on all this tech stuff. Lol.

Its OK to ask. Its a logical question. Yes your phone should be off. While it is. Press and hold the volume up rocker and the power button at the same time. This will get you in to the standard android recovery. Then just follow the directions as posted above. Good luck..

Just had this message today for about an hour or so. Just bought the phone yesterday....pumps me full of confidence! I did the reboot that you suggested and now it seems to be fine. I have the Samsung Galaxy 4 mini. Anyone know if this is a recurring problem?

I use a samsung pocket galaxy s5301. I see a box message that says Process system not responding. then at first i tried to reboot my system and the problem persisted, since i had Titanium backup pro running i decided to hard reset my device as everything is backed up on my external sd. so i went into recovery mode and i formated the phone, now the problem did not go away instead it is still there and the phone is rebooting itself after every minute, i do not have enough time to reinstall titanium and try again a system restore.

another issue i can not update from zip when in recovery mode.
