Productivity tools In S note

Hey All. I Just got the galaxy note 10.1 2014. I am an engineer so I was really excited about the equation recognition in S note. But the tools are not there. The f(x) button is not there. Do I need to activate them or install a plugin or something? Thanks for the help.
