profile, wallpaper pics without cropping?

Why do you have to crop a pic when selecting as wallpaper or bbm profile pic? On previous platforms I've always been able to zoom out of the pic to make it fit. Having to crop every photo is getting very annoying! Any way around this or how to zoom out of pictures? All and any help with this is greatly appreciated!

Thanks sizzers I will definitely try that out. Unfortunate that the s4 needs an app to do this!
