I gotta disagree with you.

I think all he means is that some apps do 'group texting' (more of a workaround) and some do proper group MMS. Google Voice as integrated with Hangouts, unfortunately, does the former right now - if someone sends a proper group MMS and includes a GV user as a recipient, that user will get several individual messages from each other participant in the group.

It's a broken situation that needs to be fixed for Project Fi to work properly.

I'm on Fi and it still doesn't seem to handle group texting via MMS. Still individual threads per person here, which is the same old crap we've been dealing with for a while on Voice.
