Project Fi performance vs. other MVNOs

Hi all,

I'm considering switching to project Fi so I can get one of those new Nexus devices on an installment plan. However, I don't want to get any worse service than I already have (I use Ting). Has anyone switched from Ting or another MVNO, if so, how do your speeds and connectivity compare?

I used Project Fi for about 2 weeks and have just switched back to T-Mobile. The Project Fi seemed to not reconnect efficiently after a network disconnect. Maybe the software was working through a search pattern for WiFi, Sprint or T-Mobile. Eventually it would come around and start working. My main reason for switching back to the carrier was for the unlimited data.

How long ago was this? I'm wondering if the service has improved recently compared to the early review a year ago.

I'm riding the bus for 20 miles into Scottsdale. There is WiFi on the bus it's spotty. When I use straight T-Mobile the overall service performs better than the Project Fi. I could bear through Project Fi, it's a beta program and I like the concept, but I'm using a lot of data on the commute. I just started using the bus a few weeks ago.

I'm at the point now where mobile data is more valued than home internet. I'd have stayed with Project Fi otherwise.
