This is what I did a year ago with my Pixel 2. I too use ATT.

Your GS8 sim worked in the Pixel right off the bat? I doubt mine will with Sprint since I remember people having to get a new sim for it to work on Sprint (and not being able to re-use another phone's sim).

I paid in full for my 3 XL 128gb. I set the money aside at the beginning of the year and luckily was able to not touch it since then, until now.

Not necessarily. 0% is nice. Plus I can expense my phone bill at work. A ~$75ish cell phone bill through Fi doesn't even get a second look. So there are circumstances where financing is great value (i.e. free phone)
