Project Fi users?

Been thinking of trying it once I get my Pixel... Tethering should work fine and at full speed right? At the moment I'm on an old and truly unlimited Sprint plan with a student discount, paying $64 a month... But I get no hotspot tethering at all unless I root and use a workaround.

A year ago when my home internet was having serious issues for months on end I used up over 6GB a month for like 10 months straight, but over the last 12 months I haven't even been using 2GB a month... Even if I split the difference and assume I'll use 4GB, Fi still looks appealing (would cost me like $60/month).

I'd gain hotspot use, and visual voicemail without resorting to YouMail, and better coverage thru that combo of two carriers... I'm hesitant to leave my unlimited plan but I can see truly unlimited plans are on the way out even on Sprint/Tmo, the new throttled plans don't seem very appealing.

My other option is joining the family on an AT&T family plan, I think they're rocking 15GB right now so $15 for one line and probably up to 8GB all for me would be pretty nice... But I'm hesitant to go back to AT&T, they're the biggest here but there's no Verizon on the island so AT&T is often over saturated.

Yes, I've tethered my pixel c with no slowdowns.

I have Fi for my wife. She typically uses less than 1GB so I get a refund usually. It's great for her. For me on the other hand, not good at all as I am a data hog. I'm around 10-14GB every month. So Fi would cost around $150 for me alone. Lol

I'm on Verizon 60GB with work and it runs $175 for data and $15 (plus device payment) per month. We split the $175 4 ways at $44 + $15 so service is $59 for 15GB. Can't beat that!!

How do you use 14gb???? Are you watching 4k video over cell?? Maybe you could be a little less crazy with your usage. I don't restrict myself at all and have never been over 6.

I'm not sure how people don't comprehend how other folks can use dozens of gigabytes of data every month. Before I had Wi-Fi at home and I had T-Mobile truly unlimited I would use between 80 and 100 gigabytes every month. I would stream movies and TV shows from my phone to my Chromecast connected to the TV. It is reasonably possible.
