Project Fi Welcome Kit.. anyone?

I was surprised that my Welcome Kit shipped with my sim. It may be a few weeks before I actually activate service, but this was a very pleasant surprise.

One of the Google Fi reps informed me that your plan will automatically activate if you haven't done it yourself in 30 days. Just a heads-up.

Thanks for the heads up. This prompted me to call. I was told that if the service isn't activated in 30 days, the sim card will expire and a new one can be ordered at no charge without having to wait for a new invite.

It's possible my rep was mistaken, but I feel better about this than the prospect of automatic activation. However, I will check my credit card in the next few weeks to verify.

Definitely not trying to take advantage Google's largesse, but I don't have a pressing need to activate service immediately. Part of me is curious to see what towers I will ping from, but in my neck of the woods, Sprint is quite a bit better than TMO.

I'll really be anxious to try Fi in a few months when I do some traveling, since it'll be much cheaper if I don't have to pay extra for International Roaming.

I just got my SIM today and that was all I got, no welcome kit although the shipping confirmation said it was being shipped. Maybe it will go out after I activate the SIM

Google's currently out of Welcome Kits but everyone who hasn't received one already should be getting it soon. Here's an excerpt from the link below:

August 14, 2015 update: We’re currently out of Welcome Kits, but we’ll have more soon. If you placed your order on August 14 or later, you’ll receive your Welcome Kit by September 30, 2015. It will be sent to the same address where your phone or SIM kit was shipped. If your Welcome Kit doesn’t arrive by September 30, or if there’s an issue with your Welcome Kit, please contact a Project Fi expert.

This is my first post on ACentral and apparently I can't post links. Replace (dot) with .

I just got a FedEx delivery manager email. Looks like a 2 lb package from Carol Stream, IL is headed my way and should be here next Tuesday. Maybe goodies are going out again? Anyone else?

I have had my service activated for a month with my own nexus 6 I brought to Fi and got a kit today with the ear phones, a battery charger and case. Didn't even know I would get one being I brought my own device. Nice surprise.

Same here. I actually love the case but I sure hope it cleans up good if it gets dirty.

Just talked to fi support today. NO MORE WELCOME KITS. I asked while I had support on the chat and they told me that they are no longer shipping welcome kits. So all of us who've been fighting to get activated or trying to get a phone, too bad we're left out in the cold. sorry everyone but thought I'd share the bad news.

Dammit, did she say when they stopped? I just ordered on the 2nd and I checked the status and it said they're not even shipping until the 29th.
