It seems that there just aren't the amount of high quality cases available for the pixel 5 as there have been for past pixels. Not a good sign for where pixel sales have been trending

I agree. There have been a few cases that I found that would have been perfect for my pixel 5 case, only to find out that case is only made for iPhone. I was hoping to get a Power Support International case for my P5. They aren't even making any Pixel 5 cases.

Been using Ringke Fusion Camo, wrapped with a frost gray skin on the phone.

This is the Fusion X which is much more robust than the standard Fusion. The black bumpers all the way around are what has been updated. Despite those bumpers the case, being on the smaller phone, is pretty minimalist.
I find the added bulk of those bumpers to actuallybe welcome.

I dropped a bunch of those older phones in the original Fusion a bunch of times. Only once did a screen cracked only once. On a couple of occasions the screen protector cracked. So I'm fairly confident the X will be more effective.

I have a Spigen Rugged Armour and Rhinoshield Solidsuit. The fingerprint cutout on the Solidsuit is slightly larger and angled steeper, so I find that my finger is less likely to partly miss the reader and end up on the camera. The Solidsuit is slightly wider in hand, but is much more protective than the the Rugged Armour.

I went with the Spigen Rugged Armor. Really like the slim design of the case. I'll admit, I did miss the finger print reader a few times, the first couple of days, after putting the case on.
