proximity sensor issue?

Funny, I had that phone (my favorite ever, lasted 4 years) and didn't have any issue with the proximity sensor but ended up having it with the HTC 10.
Does anyone else here have the same issue has mine (screen not turning off during some of the calls)?

I had this issue with a phone years ago (HTC One M8) in which the proximity sensor starting acting up after a software update (which was fixed finally after another update). So if Google is tracking this issue, they may improve sensitivity of the sensor in a future update.

I have a similar issue on line, but the opposite. After a call, the screen doesn't turn on sometimes, particularly in low light conditions.

I thought with the new December patch the problem with the ambient display sometimes not working is soft as this was addressed in the release notes. However the problem is still existent. does anybody else have this problem?

My proximity sensor didn't work when calling someone (didn't turn off the screen) but only sometimes. It hasn't yet passed sufficient time for me to state that it's solved or not.
