Proximity sensor to turn screen off during a call?

I just noticed while on the phone call today on my note7 that my screen was on despite the phone being held tightly to my cheek like normal. Is there no proximity sensor in the phone to turn the screen off when you are on a call? Am I missing a setting somewhere?

The screen goes off on my Sprint Note 7 when I hold it to my ear.
