Proximity sensor

My Droid Razr proximity sensor doesn't work. I will be on a call and the screen wont turn off. I would move the fone back and forth and it wont do any thing. I wiped off the sweat and all and it still doesnt work. Is any one else having the same problem? I had this problem with the t-bolt and was happy cus the Razr worked well. Now it doesnt. I know I can just press the power button to turn the screen off but I dont want to have to keep doing that.

Do you have a screen protector on it covering any thing near it?

The screen protector I have doesnt cover it. Now it working again
