Proximity Sensor?

I have a s20. I can't seem to find the proximity sensor setting. Currently when I answer the phone and put it up to my ear the screen stays on consequently different apps are activated. I looked under call settings, found nothing. Did a search on the phone nothing. How can I get the phone screen to turn off once the phone is answered?

According to this, it's part of the display and stays hidden until in use. The OP asked about a white dot flashing while on a call.

There's no setting for it. It's just there and does it's thing when needed. Unfortunately it's really picky about how you hold the phone up to your head. I've had mixed results with my last couple phones.

If you put the phone to your ear the screen should go black , then as you pull away go back on

It has the same pathetic implementation like on s10 /s10 plus which is under the screen and it just doesn't work well. Same goes for the ambient sensor. I just absolutely hate the way Samsung is obsessed with eliminating bezelz at the cost of usability
