I'm running CM7 Nightly 10. When running WiFi tether my iPad sees the phone fine. My MacBook Pro sees it as a device not a wifi point. My PS3 will not see it at all. Can someone please give me a little guidance. My phone is my only Internet access point at home. I had no issues with my EVO. Thanks a lot.

Are you running wifi tether for root users (the app)? If so I think the problem is your PS3 needs a dedicated AP and not adhoc. If you are using that app, stop using it and use the native tethering function menu > settings > wireless and networks > tethering and portable hotspot

omg another abuse of WiFi tether. when will folks learn that your phones data is nor designed to be abused like connecting ps3 pbox etc. its just foolish.

Sound the Alarms. omg everybody run, disable your hotspots. noooooooooooooooo

Sorry. But I just don't understand why people use their phone for internet on their gaming console.

Wouldn't you want high speed wired connection for better performance? Even that gets laggg sometimes for me.

I tried this with no success. And what's funny is sometimes I get the official notification that hotspot tethering has been turned on and sometimes I don't get the message. I'm activating the experimental 3.0 WiFi tether app. I've also tried 2.0.8, 2.0.7, etc, ad nasuem. Very frustrating.
