PS3 controller to GN for Onlive?

Just wondering if I can use a PS3 controller to my GN to play games via Onlive. I bought a micro USB to female USB adapter so I can connect the cable from my controller to my phone. However, I don't know if/how I can make my phone recognize the connection. My understanding is that if you want to wirelessly connect the PS3 controller to the phone I need to root it but I'm avoiding that option at the moment so any alternatives would be appreciated.

The ps3 controller will not work with onlive.

ps3 controller will work with games like cordy, muffin knight, gta 3, and emulators.
