PS4 controller vs Gamepad

Hey guys. My Gear VR will be here tomorrow and I was curious, should I buy and Bluetooth game pad or just use my ps4 controller with it? I've used my dual shock with my phone before and noticed a bit of lag. Will it be the same with any BT game pad? And if a game pad is better, which do you recommend? Thanks in advance.

I use my PS4 controller but yea there is a slight lag. Just looks cooler with a ps4 controller lol
