Cases with magnets can turn your EVO shift on causing bad battery life. HTC slider phones use magnets to tell the device that the qwerty has been opened because of this if you slide a strong enough magnet across the bottom of the device your Shift will turn on. I am posting this so that everyone will know if you use a case with a strong magnet it might cause your EVO Shift to come on in the case draining your battery.

Hope this helps
Dave

My magnet case by HTC from a Touch Pro 2 hasn't caused this. I do have the blue/black HTC case on the phone. That might be providing just enough thickness to keep it from happening.

I read the warning and inserted/removed the phone dozens of times to see if I would be affected.

The case my wife has, on the other hand, the magnets are darn near strong enough to hold the case to the refrig!!!!

Guess I'm lucky!

I have had the problem with the Shift turning on by itself with several different cases, but I found one at Office Depot that works very well and fits perfectly. Unfortunately I couldn't find a picture of it on officedepot.com but I found the same one online, actually for a bit less than I paid for mine:

Case Logic CLP142SMB Universal Cell Phone Case - Black in Cell Phone Cases at JR.com

I highly recommend it if you like that style of holster.

Thank you. That's good to know. I have been using my old blackberry cases with magnets but will stop just in case.
