Pull down shade...

Hi! I'm still finding interesting things about this 4XL and am really liking the phone overall. My LG V20's never received a single update due the fact that I live in Canada and both my V20's were from Yankeeville. So having the latest and greatest is a real treat.
This forum has been very helpful.

Question...

The pull down shade for notifications was always visable at the top of the screen with, you know, the time, date, battery %, WiFi and carrier strength, etc, etc.

It's gone now and only visable when I pull it down. I'm used to it always being there and would like it to return.

Any suggestions?

I was not aware that there was any way to make the status bar disappear. Have you downloaded any custom launchers? Or adjusted any Accessibility Settings that might affect screen size?

I think it started being hidden when the phone updated to Android 11 but not sure.
Also.. Since anything past Android 8 is all new to me I'm kind of lost messing around with the settings. So..
I could have somehow made it this way on my own by mistake.
I've been trying to fix it for a week now with no luck so I thought I would ask you guys.

I'm using Nova Launcher but I've always used it.

Seems to me that going back to the Pixel launcher would be the first thing to try. At least then if the notification bar comes back you'll know to take the matter up with Nova support.

It's probably Nova!
The status/notification bar is present when I'm using an app but disappears when I'm on the Nova Launcher pages.
And..
I've tried virtually every combination of settings to get it to do what I want.

I'll keep playing around with it.

I fixed it!

Definitely Nova.

Now that I fixed it I want it back to hiding itself.

Gotta love that Nova Launcher.

Yes, I did figure out how to hide/unhide it.

It's a setting in Nova Launcher in the "Look and Feel" section.

Goto "Notification Bar" settings and toggle show notification bar.

Easy peasy!
