I'm looking for opinions on what to get for the SO for her ailing BlackBerry 10 phone. I narrowed it down to a used Galaxy S6 64GB which the seller sells for about USD 240, and a brand-new Galaxy A5 2017 which sells for USD 380.
Good things I see about the Galaxy S6:
- Flagship
- Higher resolution (but the 1080p of the A5 2017 is perfectly fine)
- Faster chipset
- Better camera
- microUSB port (since the house is filled with microUSB cables, but again, USB Type-C is fine)
- Wireless charging capable (as I have a wireless charger)
The bad:
- No micro SD card slot (although that's the main reason that I opt for the 64GB)
- Battery life, since the S6 have been known to perform worse on this department.
Good things I see about the A5 2017:
- Always on display
- Has expandable storage
- USB Type-C
- Higher battery capacity and runtime
- Gonna get it brand-new from the store
The bad:
- Price is quite steep, although there's an easy payment option where I have to pay downpayment for about USD 160, then about USD 28 every month for 9 months.
I may have to choose before the week ends. Thank you for any suggestions.
