purchased via Google Play--what is the "shipping estimate"?

Because "shipping estimate" usually means the day it ships, not the day it is received--and I'd be pissed if they meant the latter, since I'm relying on that 3-5 days they explicitly promised.

I ordered it yesterday. I am informed that the shipping estimate is four days later, on the 1st. There's no tracking ID, just that cryptic text. Google Wallet informs me they won't charge me until the item has shipped, but they already charged me. But if it shipped already, wouldn't it only take 2 days and not 4?

Just for kicks I tried to cancel the order, but received an automatic message saying that my device was 'en route to being delivered' so it was too late. So.. has it shipped? Wouldn't I receive shipping confirmation or anything?

I absolutely need it by the 1st, since I'm shipping my laptop off for repair tomorrow and I have a lot of work this week.. If it turns out that the shipping estimate isn't even the delivery date, I'm really going to try and cancel my order; annoying on my part, yes, but it doesn't even seem to have shipped yet and I live an hour away from silicon valley.

Let me rephrase--if the "shipping estimate" date is just the delivery date, I am 100% fine with this. If it isn't, I don't want to wait a week for something to arrive, when it should just take 3 days (it's being shipped from Mountain View).

I ordered mine on a Monday afternoon, it arrived that Friday morning. This was right after the 16gb model became available through Play again.

Thanks! I guess with the $15 shipping cost and me living an hour away from where they ship, I was expecting Amazon Prime speeds lol.

They use ups 2 day shipping. So it doesn't matter where u live or where they ship it from. It's 2 days from the time they ship. I've gotten 2 tablets so far(both defective, waiting for my third) and each time I received it 3 days after placing the order. Ex. Ordered weds, received on fri. Btw mine didn't ship from cali but like I said, it doesn't even matter.

Thanks, good to know. The 2-day shipping I'm fine with, it's the 4 days of rotting in some warehouse before they ship that annoys me. Ordered it on Wednesday, it's not even shipping until tomorrow. And with Sunday and the holiday, I probably won't get it until mid next week. Ohh well.

Yup, shipping label was created tonight, and it's estimated for some time next week. I had ordered the 8GB, but decided to just buy the 16GB in-store today; figure I might as well use it to replace my iPod on my commute. I contacted Google, and the guy actually told me to refuse the delivery so I'd get a full refund. I was surprised by their honesty and non-money-grubbing tactics lol.
