Purchasing a Rooted Color Concerns?

Looking to becoming a Rooted Nook Color Newbie. Local person is selling one, currently running CM Nightly (not sure which version). Indicates he was unable to return to stock. $175

Is there any reason why this should raise any flags? I don't mind diving in and learning the ins/outs of which ROMs to use to root/run and how. My brief reading of the forums indicates a Nook always boots from the SD initially, so one should be able to apply whatever ROM they desire, correct?

Also, he purchased it rooted - 2nd owner.

better buy new one, you never waht issues old has untill you use it thoroughly.

And rooting takes just two mins

175 vs 250...I would go new, personally.

there may be nothing wrong with the device and you can return it completely to stock pretty easily with no real trace.

for the price difference of 75 bucks i wouldn't take the risk that it might have problems.
