Purchasing Motorola Droid Maxx on Ebay without sim card?

Looking to upgrade my phone and keep unlimited data. Have a Motorola Razr Maxx currently with unlimited data. Want to purchase a Motorola Droid Maxx on Ebay, and have noticed that most come without the sim (nano) card. Does anyone know if I can get one from Verizon? and how much they cost? Will I have to switch my data plan if purchased from Verizon?

Verizon uses CDMA so no SIM required. The Verizon phones which take a SIM have that slot for International Travel use. Tablets may need a SIM to get Data only (not voice) on Verizon.

If you buy a Verizon branded phone it will work so long as the IMEI is not blacklisted due to non-payment from former owner. No SIM needed.

Call Verizon (not from the new phone, but have it on hand) to get the new phone activated to your # and plan.
