Purchasing N10 from Walmart

I bought an unused N10 that was purchased originally at Walmart. I have the original receipt as well. I'm wondering if I should sell it and buy one from Google? My issue is the warranty. Seems it's a lot easier to get something fixed or replaced when you actually have a Google warranty and not have to deal with Samsung.

Is this something I should be worried about or just use the tablet? Anyone have any experience dealing with Samsung?

Thanks to anyone who can chime in.

I haven't bought a Nexus 10 specifically from Walmart, but usually you can't go wrong with service. If you have any issues, take it to Walmart's Customer Service counter, and they'll refund or exchange, no questions asked. Much simpler than dealing with Google, or Samsung, or any manufacturer for that matter.

I purposely bought mine straight from google based on thing I read here...
first one I got had a little more light bleed then I would want, google sent me a new one, process was as painless as could be...

for short term returns, walmart probably wont be an issue... but if you have a problem in 6 months, I dont think walmart will be very helpful...
my two cents

I bought mine from Wal-Mart;
1st model = the seal was broken & had trouble with connecting to wifi (later found out it was my router)--returned to the store. no problem swapping it out for another (of the 4 on the shelf).
2nd model = man i love this thing. smooth & wonderful.

I opted to buy local b/c
1) 90 day in person return for an immediate replacement (new, not refurb) of the tablet
2) you still have a Samsung 1yr warranty (manufacturer warranty) anyways, so if wal-mart doesn't want the tablet--send it to Samsung

also, if you buy local---see if the next state over is lower sales tax. i live on the border of NC/SC, and SC is 1.25% LOWER sales tax so i picked it up from a WalMart there.

So Walmart has a 90 day swap policy? I thought it was only 14?

That would make a big difference to me. I have the original receipt and it was purchased on 4/20 so that would give me enough time to figure out if there was anything defective.

That was basically my reasoning for possibly going the Google route. I went through the RMA process with my N7 and they were always good with me.

I wish Google would take a page out of Apple's playbook and stand by their products no matter where you bought them. As long as it's in warranty you should be able to swap it out through them.

I bought mine from Walmart. Tried to return mine for noise from the display. Walmart wouldn't take it since I had it for around 3 months. I had to deal with Samsung repair in Texas and it was an absolute nightmare. I sent it in and received it back after 3 weeks. Still had same issue. Immediately opened second ticket and resent it in. Took another 3 weeks. Tablet is working find now but I was without the tablet for a month and a half. If I was you, I would return it and get one through Google.

This is exactly what I was looking for. I think I'll probably do just that. Although I think I'll have to sell it. The reason I got it so cheap is because a guy had a gift card so he used that and sold it to get the cash. But it's not a big deal. Thanks.

Ummm I hope you know this guy becuase on the surface that sounds like a "Story" told to sell stolen goods. If he had the gift card he could have sold the gift card to soemone for cash. Why Buy a product that may not sell? or why not buy a product more likely to sell like a TV? sounds fishy to me.

Well I have the receipt which plainly states the serial number which matches the device. It also has a gift card amount and cash amount used to purchase the device. If this is a fake receipt then this guy went to an awful lot of trouble to make a few hundred bucks. Looks pretty legit to me.

Was it still sealed? The reason I ask is I have no idea if the Google/Samsung warranty is transferable.
