I wasn't sure where to put this as I don't know whether this is hardware or software related...?

My Samsung Galaxy Ace 2 has been updated through Kies to Jelly Bean, but it is quite slow and laggy. I wondered whether it's possible to wipe the Samsung software and load pure Android, just like Google phones? Would it be smoother?

I'm sure it's been done, but I couldn't find the place in the forums where I might look. If anyone can point me in the right direction, I'd appreciate it. It'll be the first time I've done this sort of thing and so will need simple step-step walk through.

Thanks in advance.

You need to root your device in order to be able to delete default Samsung apps and other stuff. try looking for methods of Rooting your device.

Yes, you will need to root the device and install a custom ROM made specifically for your model Galaxy Ace. In the meantime, try installing a new launcher, such as Nova, Apex, ADW Ex, etc. and see if that helps with some of the lag are you are having.
