Pushing POP 3 Email

For those of us coming from Blackberry and was use to near instant notification with our POP3 push email, I have found this link that will show how to have your current email provider to push or "forward" your pop3 email to your Gmail account. http://forum.androidcentral.com/general-help-how/44936-instant-push-pop-based-email-how-i-got-working.html

I tried the set up in the Blackberry to Android tutorial and still had a large lag in getting my email. With this set up I get messages near instantly and am not using a ton of battery trying to "pull" messages using the sync function in the HTC mail app. Hope this is helpful to other Blackberry converts!

I was having sooooooooo much trouble getting my smtp/outgoing mail to work on my new Thunderbolt using my pop ISP email. After finding this, I had it set up and WORKING in a matter of maybe 10-15 minutes if that. Thank you for posting this!
