Put SD card in from old phone into new and things went haywire. What to do?

My previous S5 died so I received a new one. Everything was going great until I inserted the SD card from the old S5. Now the OS is unstable, battery drains like crazy, and apps are very laggy. What is the get well plan for my phone?

Put the SD card into a card reader and run some diagnostics from your computer.
