I want to use a picture from Google photos as wallpaper.
The only choice when I go to add wallpaper is to get a photo from my gallery.
How do I get it from Google photos into the gallery so I can use it?

You can do this from Google photos.

While in the Google photo app, pick the photo you want. Look at the upper right corner of the photo and you'll see a little "3 dot" menu icon. Touch the icon and open the menu..... you'll see an option "use as." Choose that and then choose use as wallpaper.

Be sure to check at top left after you do that to "set wallpaper."

Thanks, but I really want to know how to put any old picture in the gallery. Say from drive, or my pc.
Is there a gallery folder when I plug my phone in?
I'm away from my pc now, otherwise I'd just look.

Tap and hold on the image gives me the option to download. It is then saved in download history accessed through "my files" the native file manager. When I open it there, i get the option to do it through gallery or google photos. Picking gallery let's me access the image through gallery with its various options.

From pc drag images to DCIM folder in device.
