Qi charging complaint

Here is the problem I am having. I put the turbo on the wirelesses charger at night. It reaches full charge somewhere during the night. Then it stops charging. The problem is that once the charge starts dropping and it starts charging again, the screen comes on and lights up the room. The screen eventually goes off. It quickly reaches full charge and this happens again. The screen is coming on and off all night disturbing us. This does not happen when connected to USB charger.
Mine does just the opposite. It will charge to 100%, then stop charging. In the morning it will be like 98-99%. I'd have to remove it, then reseat it if I wanted the charge cycle to restart. Difference in chargers, or phone settings?

While charging at night, I assume the low screen lighting is programmable? The S4 screen goes dark when charging from the setting for screen time out setting. The Turbo stays in low lighting mode. Is this adjustable in the Daydream setting?

Daydream will not work right because there is no "docked" state to the phone - so it just comes on when charging and off when charged - so it cycles off and on as the phone goes from 99% to 100% to 99% etc. Also Daydream leaves the buttons lit.

To overcome this I don't use Daydream and use the Dock Clock app in 'Manual" mode.

Tap the app to start it - place phone in dock - the button lights go off - the clock stays on. - The background color and font can be customized. The paid version includes weather and notifications but the free version works fine too. It moves the display around to avoid burn in.

Just picked up the Verizon wireless charger/stand yesterday and mine doesn't have this problem. When the phone reaches 100% the only thing that cycles is a tiny red led at the base of the charger. The screen stays dark.

I picked up the Choe 3-coil qi charger on Amazon and have not had this issue. And in the morning it is consistently at 100%. There must be some subtle difference in how chargers work. Perhaps it is related to qi versions (1.1 vs 1.2?).

There must be some subtle difference in how chargers work.

I am discovering that that maybe the case. I have a wireless back for an S4. I bought a cheap pad charger off Ebay. It charged fine, but when it reached 100% the phone would ding like it did when you placed it on the charger. Then it would drop a % and start charging again which caused a ding. Stop... Ding.... Start... Ding and on and on and on. Unusable as a night charger.

I just got that Verizon charger and I tested it with the S4 and it only dings when it is placed on the charger. Totally different behavior and the only difference is the charger.

I figured out an easy way to disable this notification on my Droid Turbo 2. All you have to do is go into your Apps list, show the system apps, find the "Inductive Charger" app, and DISABLE it. Inductive charging still works just fine, but no more annoying pop-up.
