Has anyone ever ordered one of these?

White QI Wireless Charge PAD Receiver Dual Port USB External Power Bank 12000mAh | eBay

I just got mine today and was very excited to try it out but the wireless charging does not work at all. Am I doing something wrong? Did I get a dud? Did I get ripped off? Is my phone maybe messed up?

I have never used wireless charging before so maybe I just don't know how to do it. Do you just place your phone squarely in the middle of the Qi charger? I do that and I can feel a slight magnetic pull but the charging icon does not light up on my phone. My last thought is that maybe this power bank needs to have a full charge before the wireless charging will work but that seems a long shot.

Thoughts?

Did it come with a power cord or do you provide your own? If you provide the cord try another. Otherwise sounds like a dud. Is that also a Battery Charger? If it is, it may indeed need charging first. Does that part work?

I use one of these... Amazon.com: Lerway Wireless Qi Power Charger Pad for Lumia920 HTC 8X S4 S3 Note II (Black): Cell Phones & Accessories (You provide the usb cord) and a dual energizer charger we use in the kitchen. They both charge incredibly fast.

Looking at the back cover it says, input 1amp, output one is 1amp and output two is 2.1amps. That's messed up. You can't input 1amp and expect to get 1amp and 2.1amp out out of it.

I've used a couple of QI chargers and all the ones I've tried need a 2.0amp input for maximum charging distance. I would return it.

I got one of those for my wife. With the stock Nexus 5 charger it worked, but if my wife put a case on her Nexus 5 it wouldn't. I got a 2.1 amp 5v charger and it works through the case now.
Your cases must have been a little thicker than ours, both chargers work through the relatively thin Cruzerlite's (Sold in AC store) both our N4 and N5.

Come to think of it though I am using an N7 cable, so it would be of the higher amp vintage. It would be an interesting experiment to see how much material I could put between the phone and charger, before it wouldn't charge.

and by the way to the OP, you don't have a thick case on the phone right?

I have a case on my phone but I took it off to try the wireless charging.

To answer an earlier question, it came with a power cord and the power bank does indeed work to charge my phone, just no luck with wireless.

There isn't anything I need to do to enable wireless charging on the phone itself is there?

There's nothing special you need to do to get it to charge wireless. I had a Nexus 4 and I bought the Google wireless charger for it and it worked fine with the bumper from Google on the phone..
