Hi there!

I just got my moto xoom (3g/wifi-MZ601) 1 week ago and for this past week I have been getting to know my new toy.

I really enjoy the mobility of the device as I grew tired of my laptop.
Still using 3.0.1, Motorola Europe has announced Aug 9 as OTA update release.
I will wait until the update and decide whether I want to root/change kernel or not.

I want to use my device like I use my laptop which is; several Mail accounts (pop & imap), surfing, movies, music, photos, etc..
I use Sharepoint workspace between my computers for calendar, Thunderbird for email and firefox for web. Access to Ftp drives & windows drives/computers over lan.

I would love to be able to sync this with my xoom but I realise it might just be too early for that at this point... Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can adapt my workflow and if there are any apps that would suit me?

ot; I wish to backup my device by making an EXACT copy of everything, like a freeze/ghost copy that I can reinstall at anytime and all my info, files, apps, everything will be as when I backed it up, is this possible?

I use drop box to keep files synced for documentsbyou have docs to go our quick office. Each have their pros and cons.

For the mail the built in mail app works well for me. Just note pop mail is cumbersome and lacks the true sync capabilities of imap or exchange.

As for full image back ups I only know of clockwork and titanium and both of them require root.

Several file explores allow you to browse files on your xoom and network

I think no one answered because you're thinking of your XOOM like a Windows based Notebook PC.

Android doesn't get corrupted like Windows does. If you ever have an issue you can do a factory wipe and start over. The only thing you will lose is your texts and the general layout you've put together. All you apps are remembered for you under "my apps" in the market. You may also want to use Appbrain.com for the same purpose. Having two backups of you apps can't hurt. ;-) If you are really insecure, you can back up your data folder and all the .apk files.

If you care about your texts, there are ways of backing up texts and I'll leave that up to you. Why anyone needs a backup of something that, by intention, is transitory is completely beyond me. Ridiculous.

As for you layout, I suggest taking photos of the home pages with you phone. It is easy enough to arrange icons. The problem is remembering exactly how you had it.

And if you really, really, really are insecure, you can root and use titanium backup, as someone else mentioned.

Setting up multiple e-mail accounts is not a problem.

My company uses "Sharepoint", but it is a web based (browser based) secure document sharing method. It works fine on my XOOM. "Sharepoint Workspace" seems to be another animal. I didn't read much about it, but from what little I read, it seems you need an executable running on your PC. You won't be able to do that on your XOOM... not unless they offer an Android app.

As for keeping backup files, like someone else already said, I'd look to web storage. I use Drop Box and it's fine with 3G. It will only get better with LTE. Anything I MUST keep locally due to size, I still keep backed up in Drop Box.
