This has been the state of affairs for some time though. The same thing has been going on with the 1st and 2nd gens of the S3/S5 platforms which introduced aptX Lossless. It's painful but wireless audiophiles go to the lengths of having the right equipment to achieve it. I suppose it's true that there may be many more people still to realise that you need both ends with the right chips before it works. LHDC offers a world closer to being independent of big hardware vendors but it's not very popular.
Bose (QC Ultra Earbuds) and Sennheiser (MTW4) use the predecessor to the S7 Pro in their flagship TWS earbuds. So, we can expect that to mean we'll see their next gen models use the S7 Pro. Although I think a good point may be that we'll see a significant price hike because this is a major evolution of wireless audio delivery. Probably the first to bring 24-bit/96kHz losslessly to the mass market. Will they capitalise on this or will they keep the pricing the same as their current models???
