Query on changing a language when texting on phone

I need to be able to text in both English and Portuguese sometimes but on separate messages. I don't want to have to keep changing my settings from English to Portuguese. Is there any way I can do this change of language on my text keyboard at messaging time? My phone is a Huawei P8lite.

Welcome to the forums. You can use Google keyboard (Gboard) or SwiftKey and add as many languages as you want in the keyboard settings. Both of them detect automatically which language you are using, so you don't need to switch between them, just type. I use Gboard with three languages, including Portuguese, and it works great.
