Question abiut phone contact lists

So by default android syncs my contact list with your gmail and facebook address books and whatever else you have. Is there a way to disable this and just have my phone contacts? I have too many names listed twice now and numbers of dozens of people imported from gmail and facebook that i don't want as well.

You can link all of the duplicates together
