Question about broken Nexus

I filed a claim to have my Nexus replaced, due to a cracked screen. It is unusable and I was wondering when my replacement gets here, how can I get my pics off my old one. I assume I just simply plug the phone into my PC with the cable and DL the pics from the phone to the PC and repeat when I want to put them on my CLNR phone.

Also, it said they were sending me a new SIM card with the replacement phone. My question is, why can't I take the SIM card out of my broken Nexus and just put it in the replacement?

Just FYI, my phone is completely stock. Never rooted, or unlocked.

Thanks to all who post.

Yes to transfer the pics you can just plug in and move. As for the sim card I see no reason why you can't just move your current sim card it should saved you time with the activation step.

Ok, I tried to plug my phone in to my PC and it does not give me the option to download pics. Unfortunately the screen is broke, so it doesn't come on for me to check to see if I have the setting correct, where it asks if the phone is a media device or music device when plugged in via USB. Am I doomed?

Does anyone know how to transfer pics from a phone where the screen is inoperable, and the phone is set to Media Device, instead of Camera, when connected to PC via USB? Please, please let me know. I am a bit desperate as my camera's screen cracked and now doesn't work. A lot of pics of my kids I would like to put on my CLNR phone that just showed up.

Figured it out. :) Now, does anyone know how to factory reset the phone without the use of the screen?

Yes if you go into Android recovery mode you can factory reset using the vol buttons

How did you figure it out? I have the same problem and can't find a solution anywhere.

Had to transfer pix from phone to PC, via USB cable, and then transfer back to new phone.
