This is my first smartphone, so forgive me if this is a stupid question.

I'm at my house right now, so I'm trying to connect my Galaxy Nexus to my Wi-Fi, so I don't to waste my very limited 4G data. So I turned the Wi-Fi option on, but it's not connecting to it. And it's not giving me the ability to enter in my SSID or password.

Again, I'm a smartphone noob, so help would be appreciated.

First turn on wifi. Then hit the word wifi like here.

Then hit scan and see if your network pops up.

Or try and enter it manually by hitting add network.

If your router uses mac address filtering, you have to make sure you add the mac address for your nexus.

Thanks tntdroid. It turns out I wasn't going under settings; I was just scrolling to the right of the screen to turn on the Wi-Fi. Seems like it's gonna take me a while to learn everything about this device haha

No problem. Glad you got it working. I have unlimited but have mine set up to connect wifi when I walk in the door. Looks like your post hit the spam filter I approved it and will look into why. If you ever post and not see it show up feel free to private message me.
