Question about drivers

If I install a driver for a different phone, will it overwrite my existing samsung driver files? I'm trying to help a friend to root.

It shouldn't overwrite your existing drivers, it should just install beside any other device drivers. Only time one driver should overwrite another one is if it is for the same device and you are installing a newer version of that driver.
