Question about DropBox!

So all of a sudden out of nowhere, a folder named "Dropbox" appeared in my gallery. And the folder contains pictures that I've had on my old macbook that eventually died. I got this phone recently and have never used Dropbox on my old macbook. My question is, how did these pictures appear on my new S3 all of a sudden?! I don't have the Dropbox app on my phone either. Help please.

You apparently had a Dropbox accoint at some time in the past, and it recognized your phone at some point. Go to Dropbox and try logging in, maybe it will refresh your memory.

When I go to my picassa page, I have a folder named "Drop Box" which says that it is the default album for newly uploaded pictures. I'm not entirely sure if this is the same as the actual DropBox. It doesn't appear that it syncs with my Dropbox album, as I uploaded a pic to the Picasa Drop Box album, but it doesn't appear on my Dropbox account.
