Question about extended batteries

I've been shopping for an extended battery for my S4. I see you can get a battery case that plugs into the micro USB plug on the bottom of the phone and recharges the main battery. Or, you can get a replacement battery that has more capacity than the stock battery. Any advantage of one over the other? And any recommendations? Thank you.

Hi, I recommend buying an extending battery instead of those cases that charge the phone. I purchased the Anker 5200mAh extended battery and have never ever run out of power. I also do use my phone without a case, and it gives it a good grip. You get a back cover as well.
