With this new rooting process does it allow you once rooted to make changes within the Android OS or do we need to still boot to recovery?

Example: Could I unsinstall the Facebook app through terminal emulator instead of having to boot into recovery, connect the phone to a computer and use adb to remove it?

we do not have full NAND unlock yet, so no as of right now you can't. it should happen sometime tho i would think. all you have to do it boot into recovery and mount system and you can delete anything you would like.

is there any big difference between the unrEVOked root and the original adb shell/sd card root? i thought i read somewhere that we had full nand unlock but im not sure. Im just asking cause i think all the popping of the sd card i did broke the spring on the card slot, and if i get it replaced i'll just use the 1 click method as long as its no different than the old one.

only difference is that with the unrEVOked 3.0 root method is that you don't have to do all those silly tricks and dumb **** to get adb in recovery and all that. With the 3.0 method you just click ONE button and it roots the phone completely and flashes clockwork mod recovery. they also should be coming out with a one click full NAND unlock within the next few weeks or so. also no we don't have full NAND unlock. If we did we would be able to edit system while booted up, instead we have to mod system in recovery when it's mounted as read/write. this is a HUGE step for the Incredible, now it will be fully unlocked just like the Nexus One and the Motorola Droid. this should also help the developer community out HUGE and get a lot more people wanting to develop for it.

Yeah I just reflashed mine this morning to get the new 2.50 clockwork recovery. Worked really nice, plug the phone in and let it do it's thing! Great work.
