Question about power button...

So I fixed the broken screen of a Verizon htc one m8, it was a huge pain in the *** by the way, but I did it. Anyways when I put it all back together I noticed the power button didn't work anymore. So I took it all apart again and noticed one of the connectors on the top board where the camera is, was not connected properly. Just wondering if anyone knows if that would be the problem before I put it all back together. I would hate to put it all back and discover that wasnt the problem.
