Question about restoring a Nandroid backup..

i never had the need to restore a nandroid yet, but i was wondering something.. let's say (for example) i'm using ROM1, and i decide to flash ROM2, i nandroid backup ROM1, then wipe and flash ROM2.. ROM2 isnt that great so i want to go back to ROM1.. can i just restore my nandroid from ROM1 and everything is back to normal? or should a nandroid only be used is something goes wrong with a new flash (as in if a problem occured flashing ROM2)?

i couldnt really find a solid answer, any help is greatly appreciated, thanksss!!!

Yes everything that was on your phone when you made the back up will be restored. You can use your recovery all you want its the same as flashing a new rom.

Except you need to be careful about radios.

If you flashed radios to work with a ROM, you'll have to be cognizant about which ROM relies on which radios.

So if in his original backup, he didn't also do a Wimax backup would he just have to research what radios were compatible with the original nandroid backup, download and flash them after Rom1 is flashed? Just trying to learn.

I only really see that Myn's has to be on the latest radios and I think I've only ever seen the Sprint Lover's rom actually update the radios in the same flash.

The regular nandroid backup will just grab your system information, you can flash radios independently of that if you ever need to.

to me it sounds like you only need to re-flash a radio if you originally flashed it with whatever nandroid you're restoring
