Question about screen sensor while in-call

Hi. Just wondered something about the S8+, I was just on the phone a bit ago and noticed that when I move my face away from the screen, it stays turned off. I know that with most phones there's a sensor that allows the screen to turn on when you move it from your ear. Is this normal, to have to manually turn it back on while in-call?

EDIT: Nevermind. Wow I feel stupid. The sensor works fine, I just must've turned off my screen manually at first. Carry on.
