Question About Sprint HotSpot

Sorry if this has been asked, I did search. I read here the Sprint is fixing to cap the HotSpot at 5GB starting 10/2. My question is do you need the HotSpot feature in order for Teathering to work. In other words if I stop my HotSpot will I still be able to hook up my cable and Teather my computer to the Evo.

If you use pdaNET, you can wire tether. If you root your phone, there's many custom ROMs with USB tethering built in from the stock Android builds.

Rooting will also give you wifi!
