Question about the music player on Droid 2

Does the music player absolutely drain your battery when you use it for, say, 2 hours? When listening to music does it use up a lot of your battery?

I haven't noticed a considerable increase in power consumption when I start playing music. Usually voltage increases from 3.56 to 3.69 after playing music for more than a few minutes. Not a lot at all.
