Question about transferring messages

First time upgrading phones. I notice if I save text message threads the attachments aren't saved. If Verizon moves my stuff for me will the attachments come over to new phone?
I know I can save them to sd card, thats not the question.

I don't think there is any way Verizon can transfer over your text messages.

You can use an app called SMS Backup and Restore. It does an excellent job of savings texts and attachments I believe and you can then move over to your new device.
