Can anyone clarify for me if the Bionic will be able to Skype?? I am almost positive that it can, but for some reason, my father is addicted to being able to use Skype and won't take my word for it. If anyone can confirm/explain further, that would be awesome.

It comes stock with Skype.

You can use skype on the bionic but as it stands right now i'm unable to use any of the cameras on the phone. so it is audio only. Skype Mobile by Verizon says that the phone is not supported as of yet but there will be an update (how soon?) that will work with it.

Lol I just made another thread about this...using video chat. Yeah it seems like there's a setting some people have been saying works? I don't know. I do know Google video chat works though, I video called Bworley50 last week.

I just found a post on droid forums and it works. Just tested it and it works with both cameras. video quality is grate.

"I got mine worked flawlessly here is how:
1. Uninstall any and every version of skype on your phone.
2. Download and install the modded version of skype from here (Credit to theos0o) : xda-developers - View Single Post - Skype 2.1.0.46 (v11) / fixes, extra features & more!
3. Sign in to your skype and hit the menu softkey then settings and tick the "Enable video calling" box. Your skype should log out and sign in again.
4. Once your signed in again and on the main page hit menu again and now to advanced settings.
5. Checkmark the option that says "Use valid preview surface"
6. Back out of there and enjoy."

Once again the link is : xda-developers - View Single Post - Skype 2.1.0.46 (v11) / fixes, extra features & more!

Lol someone confirm that, I want to know I can try it out when I pick up mine :)

This isn't working on my Bionic. I can receive video calls just fine but when I make the video call I can only see myself on the phone. I do not get a smaller box of video superimposed on the screen like i do when i receive a call. I have tried many of the settings but am lost. Seems to work with everyone else, any advice appreciated.

Works on my Bionic and on my wifes D3. Has a weird background noise issue on my wifes side but we both get video.

This worked for me. But sometimes I have trouble logging in.

Sent from my DROID BIONIC using Tapatalk

Followed instructions and loaded on Bionic. Wont allow me to sign in.

"Cannot connect to Skype"

"you cannot be signed in at this time. Please try again later"

mine didn't. and if i try to install the regular version (not the verizon one) from the market, it will load, allow me to sign in, then closes and says please reinstall skype. tried it a couple times with the same results.

These steps and the software worked perfectly for me as well (BIONIC).
