Question for the gurus

Without a doubt I have put this in the wrong place, so feel free to move. :-[
I was reading on engadget that the T-Mobile G2X has coding that enables it to do a screen capture.
Also that LG has released the coding today.
On to the question, is it possible to use that coding on say my Droid X and could one of you nice folks that knows how make it possible?

As of right now no. But with GB, it's suppose to allow 3rd part apps to capture screen shots without rooting if I remember correctly.

At the moment, I don't think there's an app designed to take advantage of GB for screenshots. I've been checking them periodically and all seem to still require rooting. If you know of one that works for stock, I'd love to know which one. It was so very useful for with the BB, but missing with Android... so far.
